William Peace is a coeducational liberal arts and sciences university based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
In the midst of a dramatic change in its history, William Peace was in need of a viewbook that would attract its newest audience and yet maintain its stature as a liberal arts and sciences educational institution. Founded in 1857, then Peace College was made specifically for women. In 2011, Peace formally decided to transition from a women’s college to a coeducational university, renamed William Peace.
Designing the first viewbook since this major turning point, we were challenged to reestablish the university’s new identity. Using large photographs to illustrate its diversity, a traditional color scheme, and a bold, yet structured layout, we created a publication both sensitive to the university’s history and aligned with its future.
