Kompleks Creative has linked with North Carolina Central University to provide graphic design services for the 2007 NCCU Hip Hop Summit. All of the events planned for the Summit are part of the NCCU Hip Hop Initiative. The Initiative educates students on the history behind hip – hop culture as well as ways of improving the current state of hip – hop.
“The position of Hip – Hop in academia has grown in recent years,” said Chancellor James H. Ammons. “Undeniably, hip – hop is one of the strongest tools by which we can reach a segment of our youth and demonstrate the ideals stated in our mission. The mission of North Carolina Central University is to prepare students academically and professionally to become leaders prepared to advance the consciousness of social responsibility in a diverse, global society.”
Kompleks Creative proudly signed on to help pull together the Initiative and Summit graphics. “Kompleks is proud to assist the university in their efforts to include hip – hop as a tool for the classroom. We will do our part as graphic artists to effectively communicate hip – hop culture through design,” said Tobias Rose, principal of Kompleks Creative.
Kompleks has designed the logo, flyers and website for the Hip – Hop Summit. The website is the main information hub where all people can visit and easily navigate. It is updated often to ensure people are kept to speed with what is going on with the Summit.
The Hip – Hop Summit is slowly gathering press in publications such as, Vibe, AltantaUrbanMix.com and AllHipHop.com.
