Beyù Caffè is a unique, Durham-based business---equal parts coffee shop, destination restaurant, hip downtown bar, and live jazz venue. Beyù came to us in the summer of 2013 looking for a way to set themselves apart from other downtown restaurants. They have a welcoming atmosphere and great food, but weren’t capitalizing on their unique business model as efficiently as they could.


Through staff interviews and careful analysis of company analytics and past marketing tactics, we were able to work with Beyù to clearly outline their business goals and develop a strategy for their marketing campaign. Beyù already had a renowned reputation for customer service and we aimed to convey this with their online presence. Our strategy would include a sleeker, more user-friendly website and a strong digital media voice that would be both engaging and recognizable. We would focus on sharing the Beyù experience, rather than focusing on their menu.

Website Design

The design for Beyù’s new website needed to be visually enticing, up-to-date, sophisticated, and create an enhanced, responsive user experience. Our design utilized carefully implemented search engine optimization, a streamlined user flow, and a style that reflected the café’s unique ambiance.

Following the launch of the website, we moved forward with creating updated print materials including new menus and event posters that were cohesive with the style of the website.

Digital Identity

The goal of any digital marketing campaign is not only to increase overall reach, but to increase engagement. We sought to accomplish this for Beyù Cafè by revitalizing their online company identity in a way that would mirror the brick and mortar personality---warm, welcoming, effervescent.

We crafted more engaging creative content for Beyù’s social media channels and developed an identifiable voice that customers would come to recognize and enjoy. We conducted a flurry of professional photo shoots to capture the atmosphere, the food, and the excitement of their events. We monitored reviews and engagement on social media to craft responses that would continue conversations and help turn customers into loyal brand advocates. We developed a tactical editorial calendar for posts and a comprehensive social advertising strategy, leading to increased patronage.

Over time, our content additions along with a more active social media voice helped to reflect the Beyù brand in a digital space.


Since July of 2013, Beyù has seen a 400% increase in Facebook likes and over 20,000 website referrals from social media (11% of all referrals). In comparison to the same time period in past years, we helped Beyù gain an average of 17% more site visitors and 8% more page views, month to month. This increased traffic has had a significant impact on business as well. The café has also reported a 9.2% increase in total sales and a 6.4% increase in dinner sales over the first year of our services.
